Jordan Clarkson Gets a Custom Hat | Wild Pony Hat Bar

On Saturday night, August 22, 2026, at the Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa, we set up the hat bar for the Ball and Recognition Ceremony closing out the JC Cares Foundation Charity Golf Invitational.

The NBA championship trophy was in the room. So was a longhorn, an ice sculpture, and a pair of boots taller than most of the guests. San Antonio does not do understated.

The Hat Jordan Clarkson Walked Out Wearing

Jordan Clarkson won his first NBA title with the Knicks in 2026 and brought his foundation's tournament back to San Antonio. Partway through the night, Rep. Josey Garcia on behalf of Alamo City Culture Collective, presented him with a custom Wild Pony hat, and he put it on right there.

That is the part we keep thinking about. Not the trophy, not the room. A state representative wanted to give a hometown champion something meaningful, and what she reached for was a hat handcrafted by a local maker that very evening.

Rep. Garcia, who represents House District 124 on San Antonio’s West Side—home to our Basila Frocks location—is an advocate for the Alamo City Culture Collective, championing the local makers, small businesses, and creative community that make San Antonio unique.

What JC Cares Actually Does

The foundation runs scholarships, youth programs, and support for families who need it. Clarkson has been steady about pointing the attention back at that work rather than at himself.

Casey put it best in her note to our team the next morning: we are grateful to be part of an effort to lift communities through education, advocacy, and sport.

Building Hats in a Room Like That

We also built one for golf creator Malosi Togisala that read "Big Mo," and worked through a line of guests who mostly came over because they saw somebody else walk off wearing something they wanted.

That is how the hat bar works at an event. Nobody has to be talked into it. Somebody shapes a brim, picks a band, and thirty minutes later they are wearing a thing that did not exist when they walked in. Then their table comes over.

A hat is not swag. Nobody leaves it in the hotel room.
