Hi, I’m Casey Russell—founder of Wild Pony Hat Bar. I started this journey in 2024 with one goal in mind: to create a space where people could express exactly who they are, unapologetically. What began as a creative spark has grown into San Antonio’s premier custom hat experience—where Texas charm meets creative tradition and every hat tells a story.

Before Wild Pony, I spent over 15 years climbing the corporate ladder at two Fortune 500 companies, working in industries where women were often outnumbered—sports and aerospace. I was usually the only woman in the room. I had a strong voice and bold ideas, but more often than not, they were overlooked. Glamour, creativity, and individuality didn’t have a seat at the table—and neither did I.

Then came the layoff. It could’ve been the end of my career story, but I saw it as a turning point. I chose to bet on myself. I leaned into my love of design, storytelling, and community—and Wild Pony Hat Bar was born. A brand built on creativity, resilience, and the belief that there's power in showing up as your full self.

Wild Pony is more than a business to me. It’s a celebration of personal style, bold ideas, and good old-fashioned Texas hospitality. It’s a place where creativity thrives, kindness matters, and everyone is encouraged to be exactly who they are.

Through custom hat bars, curated design experiences, and unforgettable events, I’ve built something that brings people together—not just to wear hats, but to wear who they are. Around here, we’re building more than looks. We’re building a community—rooted in confidence, creativity, and kindness.
